Phlebotomy Technicians are practitioners that can work in a variety of healthcare facilities in the community including hospitals, clinics, doctor’s offices, and nursing homes. Phlebotomists learn proper techniques to perform basic venipunctures on a variety of patients along with preparation of specimens for laboratory testing. Phlebotomy Technician training consists of classroom and laboratory competency based courses of study designed to prepare the student for employment in an acute care or clinic setting.
