Andrew Johnston, BS, NREMT-P
AAES Executive Director/APPT Program Director
Andrew Johnston is the Executive Director of AAES and the Program Director of the Arizona Partnership for Paramedic Training. After achieving a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2008, he began working as an EMT then Paramedic for Southwest Ambulance. In 2010 he began teaching here at AAES, his Paramedic school alma mater, to give back to the EMS profession and help develop the next generation of EMTs and Paramedics. Currently, Andrew works on the business and educational development of AAES and still finds time to get back to his roots and teach new EMTs and Paramedics.

Tyler Bittner, BS, NREMT-P, CCP-C
APPT Paramedic Program Coordinator
Tyler Bittner has been involved in EMS for the past seven years. Tyler began his involvement in 2012 as a volunteer EMT on the University of Vermont Rescue Squad. During his sophomore year at UVM, Tyler earned his Advanced EMT certification and began working as a volunteer Crew Chief with Milton Municipal Fire/Rescue, a rural district in Vermont. In 2016, Tyler graduated from UVM with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology and moved to Arizona to begin his Paramedic schooling with AAES while additionally working in a Mayo Clinic immunology research lab. Following his Paramedic credentialing in 2017, Tyler was brought on to the AAES team as an EMT Program Lead Instructor. In winter 2018, Tyler began Lead Instructing the AAES Paramedic Program. Starting in 2019, Tyler was offered the Paramedic Program Coordinator position where he currently oversees all Paramedic student education, testing, and program design. Additionally, in April of 2019 Tyler received credentialing as a Critical Care Paramedic. Tyler has the goal of becoming an Emergency Department Physician and is currently applying for the 2020 admission cycle.
Tanner Jones, BS, NREMT-P
EMT Program Coordinator
Tanner Jones has been involved in EMS for the past five years. Tanner obtained an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice and found an interest in medicine shortly thereafter. Tanner enrolled in the EMT Program at AAES and was quickly amazed with the world of pharmacology, trauma and anatomy and physiology. This spurred Tanner’s passion to know more, and to be as engaged as he could in this new field. Tanner then went on to AAES’ Paramedic Program, became certified, and continued on to work with American Medical Response for several years. During that time, Tanner graduated from ASU with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Biological Sciences and worked as a Lead Instructor within the EMT and Paramedic Programs. In 2015, Tanner accepted his current position as the EMT Program Coordinator overseeing the curriculum, testing and overall success of the EMT Students.
Tyler Call, NREMT-P
Clinical and Vehicular Coordinator
Tyler Call graduated his paramedic class in 2017 and started proctoring and teaching CPR for AAES. He then advanced into a bigger role and became an instructor for the EMT classes and a proctor for the paramedicclasses. Tyler is currently working as our Clinical and Vehicular Coordinator for the paramedic programs.
Student Services Coordinator
ReighClaire Braaten joined the AAES team in May of 2018 as a Student Services Coordinator. She helps maintain the daily functions of the office, as well as managing accounts for students starting and finishing their AAES adventures. ReighClaire has a strong desire to make connections while impacting lives and the community and is excited to help every student grow in their EMS journey in any way she can! FYI – if you ever ask for a pencil, you will need to tell her a joke first in order to get one.
Belle Reiss joined the AAES family in April 2019 as a Student Services Coordinator responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Academy working at the front desk assisting new, present and past students. Belle recently was promoted to Administrative Manager in July 2019 and will work more closely with the Executive Director to assist as necessary with marketing, accounting, coordination of events as well as handling more of the daily administrative tasks to ensure we are running a smooth, efficient and consistent organization all while continuing to provide exceptional customer service to all of our students/clients. Belle grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and relocated to Arizona in October 2018. She has a diverse background with 10+ years’ experience in Administrative/Office Managing roles as well as 8+ years’ experience as a veterinary technician. She has a passion for bringing joy to others and helping people making their experience a positive one. She is excited to be a part of the AAES family and is looking forward to her future success within the organization.
